Bachelor of science in Biological Sciences
from Colorado State University, 1969; master of science in Microbial Ecology

Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah
State University in 1975 and 1979, respectively; hobbies: Cross-country and
downhill skiing, sailing, hiking, camping; she left
NASA in May 1991 to serve as project manager for
SeaWiFS (Sea-viewing, Wide-Field-of-view-Sensor), an ocean color sensor that
monitors vegetation globally, at Goddard Space Center; until March 2007
Associate Administrator, Science Mission Directorate,
NASA Headquarters. She also served as deputy associate
administrator (advanced planning) in the Office of Earth Science at
NASA Headquarters. Since October 01, 2007, she became
member Board of Directors Sigma Space Corp., Lanham, Maryland.
