Sechenov's Moscow Medical Institute, 1965; candidate of medical sciences degree, 1976; specialized on astronautics medicine at Institute of Medical and Biological Problems, Ministry of Public Health (IMBP), Moscow; was selected as cosmonaut on 22.03.1972 (IMBP-1); OKP (cosmonaut basic training): 10/72 - 12/79; from 1989 to 1997 Deputy Director of IMBP; received a doctorate of medical sciences degree 1997 an became Professor at International Academy of Astronautics.
