Graduated from Higher Military Pilot School, Armavir, 1979; Major and pilot, Soviet Air Forces; was selected as cosmonaut on 11.05.1990 (TsPK-11); OKP (cosmonaut basic training): 01.10.1990 - 06.03.1992; died (drowned) on 11.07.1993 during survival training at Black Sea. At that time he trained as crew Commander along with his mates Flight Engineer Aleksandr Lazutkin and Sergei Treshchyov; on July 11, 1993 Vozovikov and Lazutkin left their resting place to fish and hunting. Vozovikov, an experienced diver, tangled up in a fishing net and could not free himself, also Lazutkin, was not able to help him; the death body of Vozovikov was found a day later by a salvage team.
