Graduated from Air Force Navigation School, 1953, graduated from Air Force Military Academy, Monino, 1960; Colonel, Soviet Air Force, Res.; was selected as cosmonaut on 08.01.1963 (TsPK-2); OKP (cosmonaut basic training): 1/63 - 21.01.1965; he trained for the Soviet Lunar Landing Program and was assigned as backup for Soyuz 11; later he was involved in studies of research of mineral resources during spaceflights; he died after long illness.
