Graduated from Higher Air Force School, Tambov, 1967, from the Test Pilot School in Akhtubinsk, 1976, and from Moscow Aviation Institute, 1981; Colonel, Res. and test pilot, Soviet Air Force; was selected as cosmonaut for Buran flights; OKP (cosmonaut basic training): 1/79 - 11/80; later he worked at headquarters of Russian Air Force until 1995; from 1995 to 1997 he was Tu-134 Commander for "Alrosa-Avia", from 1997 to 1998 he was deputy director for the Polyus company; then he served as pilot with Tefis aviation company; since 1999 he is Commander of the Krylo company.
