Engineer and Constructor; graduated from Leningrad Mechanical Institute with a mechanical engineering degree, 1981; he joined NPOE (testing space flight equipment, developed space operations methods); member of Soviet and Russian national aerobatic flying teams; was selected as cosmonaut on 02.09.1985 (NPOE-7); OKP (cosmonaut basic training): 11/85 - 10/86; hobbies: swimming, skiing, biking, aerobatic flying, amateur radio operations; since February 2007 Vice-President of Manned Flights at Energiya Corporation; on 27.03.2009 he became head of the new civil TsPK.
